January Newsletter
Back for 2026
We hope everyone had a safe and relaxing break over the Christmas and New Year period.
The Bowlo is officially back open for 2026 and we’re looking forward to welcoming members, friends and the wider community back through the gates.
We reopen this Friday the 9th of January, kicking off another year of barefoot bowls, Friday feeds, community events and good times at the Bowlo.
New Faces
We’re pleased to welcome a couple of new faces to the Bowlo team who joined us late in 2025 and early in 2026.
Fiza started with us in December 2025 in the role of Food & Beverage Manager. Many of you may have already met Fiza around the club. She brings a wealth of experience from running and managing a range of sporting clubs and is already making a positive impact behind the scenes.
Darryl has also joined the team as our Friday Night Chef. With years of experience in the kitchen, Darryl will be bringing his culinary skills to the Bowlo each Friday night, focusing on affordable, quality and unique menu offerings.
Friday Feeds
Yes, you heard that right — every Friday we’ll be serving fresh food at the Bowlo.
Each week, you can expect a new and varied menu with options for both meat eaters and vegetarians. Our aim is to keep things interesting while offering food that’s affordable, good quality and made to be enjoyed alongside a bowl or a drink. Weekly menus will be shared via our social channels and event reminders.
We’re also working towards launching our very own everyday menu, with consistent food available beyond just our Friday openings. Keep an eye on this space.
GoFundMe / Improvements
The Committee has agreed to release some of the funds raised through our GoFundMe so far — putting that money to work and showing we’re serious about delivering the improvements our community has been calling for.
Our first priorities are the two biggest items on the wish list: getting the kitchen fully operational and getting the cold beer flowing from our taps. These are practical upgrades that will make a real difference to how the Bowlo operates and how members experience the space.
That said, the job isn’t finished yet. The GoFundMe campaign still has a way to go if we’re going to achieve everything on our improvement list. If you’re able to help, it’s not too late to donate and support the next stage of works. You can find the campaign here: GoFundMe.
